"If it's ever spring again"

Main Campus this morning

If it's ever spring again,
Spring again,
I shall go where went I when
Down the moor-cock splashed, and hen,
Seeing me not, amid their flounder,
Standing with my arm around her;
If it's ever spring again,
Spring again,
I shall go where went I then.

(Thomas Hardy)

How beautiful. I hope that spring will soon be here.

Spring is here as far as I'm concerned. It's March so now I expect lovely sunshines and warm afternoons. Mind you, in Cyprus we say "save your firewood in March, lest you burn your fence posts".

In the North of England, we have the much more sedate 'never cast a clout till May is out'...

Is this something about not taking your vest off early...?
